Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the state, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
