I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really happening.
